Cannot remove Win7 Drive letter after installing Ext2FSD

I use a program called EXT2FSD – Open source ext2/ext3 file system driver for Windows to manage Linux partitions and after some setting up I noticed I couldn’t remove a rogue drive letter in Computer.

You just need to do the following:-

  1. Uninstall Ext2FSD
  2. Goto Start, Run, Regedit
  3. Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerDOS Devices
  4. Delete the drive letter (J: in  my case) and reboot

The reason was i tried to assign J: as a permanent Fixed point on Windows bootup!
